A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be solved by using anti-spam filtering software. It is also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting

You will be able to set up a catch-all e-mailbox without effort if you’ve got a cloud website hosting account with our company. The Email Manager in our custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel is full-featured, yet really easy to work with, and it will enable you to activate different options, including the catch-all one, with only a couple of clicks of the mouse. All the mailboxes that you’ve got will be enumerated in alphabetical order in this section and next to each one you will see a tiny "Catch-all" symbol. Clicking it once will enable the feature, clicking it again will deactivate it. As you can have just one such mailbox per domain name, our system will inform you if you already have a different one with this option activated or if you’ve got enabled email forwarding.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all option can be enabled easily if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve set up with the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be shown in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will notice a small logo conveniently located directly next to each one. With only one single mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with the option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this feature using the context menu that will show up. If any of the requirements for creating a catch-all mailbox is not fulfilled, our system will inform you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
