Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, that is intended to prevent the so-called e-mail spoofing where an e-mail message is sent from one email, but to appear as being sent from a different one, frequently with the idea to scam the recipient for some reason. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain, a unique record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers globally have it. The record contains all mail servers that are permitted to send legitimate messages from an email address within the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the very first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and when its sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the target destination. When, however, the sending server is not present in the SPF record for the given domain, the e-mail message will not be submitted and it'll be removed. In case you use this solution, it'll prevent third parties from sending spam which appear to have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Website Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for each domain hosted in a cloud website hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with no more than a couple of mouse-clicks. The option is accessible in the Emails section of our cutting-edge Hepsia Control Panel and all it takes to use it is to select one of your domains from the drop-down menu and then enter the hostnames as well as the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers which will be approved to send emails from your emails. As an added option you may also restrict the e-mails to be sent from your domain only if it includes our MX records, i.e. if our servers manage the e-mail addresses for it, not a third-party provider. This option gives you the best level of protection, but it's not applicable when only your website is on our servers while your email addresses for the domain are taken care of in another place. Regardless, our SPF protection service will keep your email addresses secure from being used for spam and/or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The Hepsia website hosting Control Panel, which comes as standard with our semi-dedicated service, offers you an exceptionally easy-to-use interface to activate the SPF security service for any domain name that you host inside your new account. Several clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia are enough for that and you'll only have to enter the hostname and the IP address of the mail server that will be allowed to send messages from your e-mail addresses. In case the e-mails are taken care of on our end and not by some other supplier, you are able to boost the security level even further and enable an option for all of the outgoing emails to be sent only if your domains include our MX records. This option will provide you with more control and it'll eliminate any possibility of someone faking your e-mail addresses with the purpose of spamming and / or scamming people. It is not applicable if only your web site is on our outstanding cloud website hosting platform, while your e-mails are handled by some other provider. If you are not sure what options to select, our tech support team will help you 24/7.
